Welcome to the Broken Husky Media Server

A Guide to Jellyfin and Jellyseerr

Table of Contents

Basic Information

Broken Husky Media Server uses two primary services:

  • Jellyfin: This is your streaming platform and app, where you'll watch movies and TV shows.
  • Jellyseerr: This is your request portal, where you can suggest new content to be added to the library. Access it at: jellyseerr.brokenhuskysledteam.com

You can log in to both services using the same credentials. Your Jellyfin account has been automatically synced with Jellyseerr.

Setting up Jellyfin on Your Devices

Downloading Jellyfin

While you can access Jellyfin through your web browser at jellyfin.brokenhuskysledteam.com, we highly recommend using the dedicated Jellyfin apps for a better streaming experience. Jellyfin offers apps for a variety of platforms, including:

  • Android: Available on the Google Play Store.
  • iOS (iPhone/iPad): Available on the Apple App Store.
  • Windows: Available on the Jellyfin website.
  • Chromecast: Built-in support or via the Android/iOS apps.

Handling Unreleased Media

Broken Husky Media Server is configured to handle requests for unreleased movies and TV shows.

  • Unreleased Movies: If you request a movie that hasn't been released yet, the server will monitor for its release. Once the movie is released and becomes available, it will be automatically added to the library (subject to availability and quality checks).
  • Unreleased TV Shows: Similarly, if you request a TV show with upcoming seasons or episodes, the server will monitor for their release. New episodes and seasons will be added as they become available.

Important Note: The server's ability to acquire unreleased media depends on various factors, including availability and quality. There are no guarantees that all requested unreleased content will be added immediately upon release.

Reporting Issues with Media

If you encounter any issues while watching content on Jellyfin, please report them directly through Jellyseerr:

  1. Note the Details:
    • The name of the movie or TV show.
    • The specific episode and season (if applicable).
    • The timestamp of the issue (e.g., 10 minutes into the movie).
    • A detailed description of the problem (e.g., buffering, audio issues, video glitches).
    • The device you are using to watch the content.
    • Provide context: Was the issue only on the one media item, or every item you played?
  2. Report the Issue in Jellyseerr:
    • Navigate to jellyseerr.brokenhuskysledteam.com and log in.
    • Use the search function to find the media item that had the issue.
    • Go to the media item's detail page.
    • Click on the "Issues" tab.
    • Click "Report Issue" and fill out the form with the information you noted in step 1.
    • Submit the issue.
  3. View Issue Status and Comments: After submitting an issue, you can view its status and any comments from the administrator directly within Jellyseerr. Simply return to the "Issues" tab on the media item's detail page to see updates.

Reporting issues through Jellyseerr directly notifies the administrator, allowing for efficient troubleshooting and resolution.

For any issues that are not directly related to a specific media item (e.g., login problems, general server questions), please contact us via email at: support@brokenhuskysledteam.com

To check the current status of the Jellyfin and Jellyseerr services, including historical uptime and scheduled maintenance, please visit: https://uptime.brokenhuskysledteam.com/status/brokenhusky SITE CURRENTLY DOWN

If any service is listed as offline on the status page, the entire media server may be inaccessible. Please check this page before reporting a general service outage.

Troubleshooting

If you are having playback issues with any of the videos, especially ones marked 4k, try setting the maximum bitrate to a lower setting. Settings as low as 10-15Mb/s can be applied with little to no difference in quality.

NOTE: This service works best when on WiFi and on a device that is typically used for dedicated media, such as a Chromecast or the Official Google TV app.

Upcoming Features

We are continually working to improve your media library experience. Here's a sneak peek at some upcoming features:

  • Discord Notifications: We will be launching a Discord server that will provide automated notifications when new movies and TV shows are added to the library. This will allow you to stay up-to-date on the latest additions without having to constantly check Jellyfin. More information, including an invite link, will be shared soon.

Additional Information

  • Updates: The media library is regularly updated with new content.
  • Quality: The server aims to provide high-quality media. However, quality may vary depending on the source.
  • Support: If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the administrator through the Jellyseerr issue reporting, or through the support email support@brokenhuskysledteam.com.
  • Password Sharing: Please do not share your password or log in to a device that you do not own. I have limited internet bandwidth and am trying to keep this free for us.

We hope you enjoy the Broken Husky Media Server!
